|
|
Does anyone know if there is a way to send MIDI controller data to the X-5D so that the software sequencer will trigger the X-5D's Combination bank sounds?
We're doing a soundtrack project in my music technology class and my students want to use Comination bank sounds but I don't know how to set it up in Cakewalk so anything but the GM bank is accessible.
Help!

Easiest thing to do:
in MULTI mode, (not sure what page it's on) there is a command to "Copy from COMBI." it will set up every MIDI channel in MULTI mode to respond just like the combi, and call up the effects and programs too. It will play just like the Combi. Then you can just control everything from MIDI channel 1 in MULTI mode, and you won't have to do anything in Cakewalk, just leave the patch fields blank... but you'll have to do this every time you load up the Cakewalk sequence.
Using a software sequencer,
Bank 0 will be PROG Bank A
Bank 7168 will be the GM PROG bank.
You cannot use combinations in MULTI Mode... you can either do what I instructed above, or put the X5D in Combi mode, and type in the patch number (no bank) _________________ Korg Kronos-61, 01/Wfd, SONAR Pro |
