Just curious why the Triton Extreme was discontinued. Seems like the 88-key Triton wasn't out there very long.

I belive it's just because it is based on an old Triton architecture; an expanded old Triton. Since Oasys is on market since 2005 if I remember correctly (a year after Extreme release), it was time to adapt EDS for the entire workstations range soon. Just a thought

KrzysiekK is right, they needed to pass the torch so to speak so at some point more and more boards with EDS would get into customers hands. One way to do that is to get rid of older architecture.

Why or when it was discontinued means very little because it is one incredible workstation which is still very highly sought after. I got one 2 months ago and am getting another one in a few months so if one dies, I'll always have a backup. I'm redoing all of my songs so they currently work around both the Extreme and M50(before it was the Karma and TR/X50).

Some think I'm crazy for wanting 2 TREXs but at the current prices, to me it's a downright steal Cool

Where have you found a Triton Extreme recently? I can't find it in any of the stores near me or on the websites I've looked at so far.

The Extreme was discontinued 2 years ago so you will Not find it in stores or websites unless it's a repackaged demo of some sort.

You'll find them on eBay, Craigslist, and musicians Forums such as this little home of ours and others around the net. Mint ones can be found on ebay all the time.

This just made me realize... I had a really vivid dream about my Extreme last night... The tube was glowing and making strange patterns at me!

I haven't seen it almost 9 months due to travel, and definitely miss it.

There all over, I have owned 4+ of them personally, you can pick them up on Ebay, Craigslist or on GuitarCenter.com in the used section....
