I'm looking at a used M3-73 for sale locally that looks like the majority of the buttons on the right side have faded pretty badly. Has anybody in the US contacted Korg recently and received new buttons? I don't want to buy this thing if I can't get them replaced.

Thanks,
Bill

I just called Korg customer support. They know nothing about this offer and referred me to another company to order replacements (which I have to pay for). Hmmmm...guess I'm too late.

I sent Korg Support an email a few weeks ago and I got the automated response that someone would contact me.

nobody ever did.

Not happy with the wearing buttons. Not happy at all.

Well I have the email directly to a person in customer service that has been helping me with the issue. I'm not sure what exactly is going to happen yet. But she emailed me back today and asked for my phone number so she could get in contact with me.

I do believe though, that I'll get my new buttons.

you should post that (and warn her that others will be calling) because the rest of the tech support seem to be clueless. Korg UK are replacing all the buttons on defective units.

I just called the "Contact Us" numbers on the Korg.com website:

Customer Service: (631) 390-6800
Product Support: (631) 390-8737

I called product support first and they transferred me to customer service. I dropped Jerry's name and mentioned that Korg had been replacing these for free. Customer support wasn't familiar with that so they gave me another phone number to an independent Korg parts dealer and said I'd have to order/pay for them (partsisparts.net).

In the end, I didn't buy the M3 for sale locally because of this. I hope you guys have better luck. Rolling Eyes

Ah yes...parts is parts. I've dealt with them many times. But I have yet to see a parts list for the M3, which is why I asked who the dealer was.

I contacted Korg UK last night and they do not ship to the US. They referred me to Korg Japan. Rolling Eyes

I was very successful at getting replacement buttons (in small increments) from Korg USA when Jerry first announced this campaign. But the employee who answered my email requests and promptly sent the buttons no longer works there.

I just asked Rich Formidoni in a Harmony-Central thread about this. I suspect he'll know what's what.

And here's Rich's response:

Yes, we're still offering replacements. Sorry you got misinformed, please email support@korgusa.com and we'll take care of you.

Sorry for the confusion, I don;'t know why this information gets "forgotten" from time to time. I just sent a reminder around the whole building. We're still doing what we always did.

note- Korg USA is not just replacing whole sets of buttons without proof that there is a problem. We are concerned with our large population that we'll run out of parts. Just FYI.

McHale - your request was sent to me, and it was parked for a while- I was busy. All sorted out now.

Sorry again for the confusion folks!

Jerry
