Chris Whitehead and a friend of his called Darren are intending to make professional styles for the Pa2x/ Pa800/ Pa500/ Pa588 series of keyboards. The drum beats will be played live on Yamaha V-Drums by Darren, and captured on a Pa800 via MIDI. The backing tracks will be played live on the Pa800 by Chris. Guitar mode will be used for guitar accompaniment tracks.

The styles will use factory sounds and factory drumkits to avoid the present fault in the korg OS where the linkages between styles and user sounds become broken (and then play garbage) after loading multiple .SET files.

For those who do not know him, Chris is "the star" on the Arranger Secrets DVD's. Chris has Korg and Technics professional experience, and he and Darren are gigging musicians in the Maidenhead/ Windsor area of the UK. Both Chris and Darren will respond to user feedback about content and pricing, so suggestions on this thread will be taken into account.

Please use this thread to post your suggestions of the type of styles and drum beats you would most like Chris and Darren to develop for the Pa2x/ Pa800/ Pa5xx etc. Also please make suggestions on what you think would be a reasonable price to pay for the styles you want.

I need some styles for accompanying contemporary ballads, for example:

12/8 ballad style (eg for Whitney Houston - Saving all Your Love for Me)
Slow 4/4 ballad (eg for Whitney Houston - Hold Me)
9/8 celtic ballad style (eg for contemporary worship songs)
Styles for Fleetwood Mac classics
Styles for Elton John classics eg Rocket Man

Rob, I reckon you could add styles for Billy Joel as well...

Plus some realistic rock styles, and many more "song-specific" styles, there are too many generic styles already!!

Dennis

PS If I could get styles for even just BJ and EJ I would be a happy man!!

I think the suggestion for artist/ album specific styles is a very good one, and as Dennis says it would be more useful than more "generic" styles. So post your favourite artists/ albums that you want to play here ....

What a wonderful idea.

May I plead for you to please include a few modern Indian beats and styles also. I am talking about modern Bollywood music, not necessarily traditional instruments. I will be happy to supply the actual music to you guys if you wish.

Muchas Gracias;

Kauser

YES, super idea song specific styles (of course they can usually be used for a variety of other songs too)

I will work on a list...

This is very exciting as the only real thing I miss on the T2 is the song specific styles and some of slower styles for 'Standards'
I think most Yamaha factory styles originate from specific songs or sets of songs.

We have a lot of general styles now on PA, so song specific is a great addition.

Chris, I bet we can keep you busy!
Chris...where are you located?

Thanks,
Lee
