Hey everyone,

I just bought an used Korg Triton classic today, and I tried to load some PCG I found on the net. So I copied it in a floppy disk, put it into the Triton - but it doesn't work. When I try to load it, a messagebox appears "There is no readable data". I tired on several floppy disks.. I don't think the floppy reader is broken, cause I can load Midifiles without any problem.

Do you have any idea please ? Thanks !

BTW, my Triton's OS is 2.1.0 - Dunno if I can upgrade it to the latest OS, since it's 1.8Mb - too big for a floppy stuff.

Ok, actually I tried to upgrade the OS and I'm stuck at the first step. When I press the Enter & Locate buttons, the Triton doesn't ask for the upgrade floppy disk.

However I managed to load some samples, save PCG files.. But still can't load any PCG.

Loading Instructions

Insert the disk and press the Disk button. Load the file TIMBDEMO.KSC by highlighting that file, selecting “Load” from the upper right corner of the screen, then pressing “Load selected.” In the next window, check the box next to “Load TIMBDEMO.PCG too” then press “OK.”

The PCG I tried to load doesn't need any sample - it was supposed to be Triton LE ready. I tried to update the OS to 2.5.3, everything went fine until I had to insert the 3rd disk - the floppy drive doesn't seem to work when I insert that last floppy disk. At first a message appeared saying that there was a "read failure". So I tried with several floppies, now nothing happens when I insert any floppy - the screen still shows "Please insert System disk 3"

So I'm really stuck, knowing that if I cut the power off - it may doesn't work at all or freeze during startup.. I hate my life.

you are hitting the 'disk' button ?

Try to ' korg format ' the floppy first

If you can't do this, your Classic has a bad floppy disk drive

You have a big gripe with the seller , if this is the case

I feel your pain! I do remember Korg saying to use fresh floppies. I had the same problem as you did. Turned out, my drive was bad.
Good luck and hope you get this problem resolved!

Good news, everything's working fine now. I called the Korg Hotline, the technician told me to power it off - . I was scared to hell, but apparently the new OS has been successfully installed. And best of all : the floppy drive is working Very Happy.

Thank you guys, much appreciated your help !
