|
|
OSX 10.5.1 - Mac Pro 2X2.66 Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Bought the the KDC-DE package today - came with installer CD 1.2.
Installed, validated, got the code, push to the usb key. Updated the Licensing Control Center to the latest version (5.2.24.0) because i have Leopard. Got the M1 and WaveStation stand-alone apps to run at that level but it doesn't register as an AU in Digital Performer 5.1.3.
It's not the latest version so, no sweat - that's the reason right? so I download the klcde_131_Mac.dmg from KorgUserNet. Updater runs fine, i restart the mac BUT, when i try to open the stand alone updated apps both M1 and WaveStation now give me these error messages:
"M1.component not found" & "WAVESTATION.component not found" - the only thing you can do at that point is click ok.
Has anyone came across issue upping to 1.3.1? I can't seem to find an older version updater to see if 1.3.1 is screwed somehow.
If I stick with the CD version 1.2.0 - can only use stand-alone apps.
If I update to 1.3.1 - nothing opens...
Any help is appreciated.

For anyone out there with the same issue. When you purchase klc-de and the CD comes with a prior version (mine was 1.2 on the CD); you don't have to install it first in order to use the korguser.net downloadable DMG.
That was my mistake, got it working by de-installing completely the 1.2 version that came with the CD then used the 131 file to re-install fresh and everything worked well.
The 1.3.1 installer doesn't handle older version's file very well in terms of cleaning up. Hence some 1.2 left over files was apparently making my 1.3.1 version unusable.
Someone was kind enough on the Yahoo forum to remind me that this is stated somewhere in a korg document... So, although not incredibly clear for someone like me used to instinctively navigate the software landscape (i work in IT), it's technically not Korg's wrong doing as its documented somewhere...
hope this post can help anyone in the same situation as i was.
