Hi all,
I just bought a KP3 about two weeks ago and have recently set about trying to get the sd card working along with hooking it up to the computer. The main problem seems to be that the program/bpm knob responds to turning but does nothing when pressed. So for instance, I put an SD card in, turn on the unit, press shift + 1, and turn the program/bpm knob to "forn" to format the card, but when I press the program/bpm knob nothing happens. At first I thought it was the card, but in trying to some other things, like making sure that the sysex is enabled, realized that the program/bpm knob doesn't respond to button presses there either.
Beside this the sample bank A button doesn't seem to allow samples to be written to it (it blinks when sampling as a button to receive the sample but pressing it does nothing - the B C and D buttons work however). And when I turn on the KP3 to install the updated OS by pressing C, D and Sampling and then pressing power, the "IPL" message doesn't appear, just the usual startup routine.
Did I just get a broken out of the box KP3 or is there something really important that links all these problems that I'm missing? Any help would be really, really appreciated. I just called Turntable Lab where I got it here in NYC and they're telling me to take it up with KORG.
Thanks in advance. |

make sure your SD card has the little protection thing set to "OFF"..
there is a lock on the side of it which, when locked(or set to "protect mode) will not allow you to write to the card...
please consult your sd card manual for a more concise walk thru!
if that doesnt work, get another sd card of your friend and try it.. |
