I wonder how "Fantom-G" will compare to OASYS....

IMO, I think even Fantom-X, Motif-ES/XS can stand up to OASYS in some areas!

This is nothing but guessing. I bet the new Roland workstation won't even be called a Fantom.

The list is apparently from here :

http://directories.csa-international.org/xml_transform.asp?xml=certxml\087117_C_000-2211-81.xml&xsl=xsl/certrec.xsl

... looks kosher. I did a search for Korg from the home page of that site, but didn't see anything newer than the M3, but it was early in the morning so I may have missed something Wink

Take a look at the prices! OASYS is a level higher instrument. Fantom X and Motif ES might be put in the same bucket with Triton, IMO. Motif XS and M3 are a new generation and we're waiting a response from Roland...

why everyone is saying that the oasys is a level higher instrument? Say it's a different instrument instead, cos when I read level higher it means in my mind that buying an oasys I can do everything I can do with other keyboards... and it is not the truth. The truth is that it's a completly different instrument that in some areas is simply amazing, in other it just replace what a good home studio can do (I'm still think that it's a good solution for people who don't own a little home or poject studio and need the basic stuff to start recording an album), in other it still doesn't compete with other brand (Kurzweil VAST is an example, even if The Irish Man says that he doesn't like the sound Wink) and it still cannot compete with a good VA synth... and so on.
So please when you're talking about the big O, say that it's a different instrument but not that it's a higher level instruments cos professionist all over the world simply chose other brand and other workstation over the oasys: this must means something.
regards, Lorenzo

Laughing so you didn't read a single line and just quoted me... I never saied that the oasys doesn't sound good, I'm saying that it simply isn't so much over the other in other aspects. If you think that it's the perfect synth, don't put here audio examples, I played it and I know how it sounds, just tell me why every pro in this word just don't own an oasys since it's THE keyboard...
regards, Lorenzo
p.s. anyway as always we are talking OT here so I stop here. I won't reply any other comment to this thread
