From my understanding the ESX-1 is the only Electribe that uses a smart media memory card.

The EMX uses Smart Media also. These cards should be fine. I've got a fuji and an olympus at home and they work OK.

128MB is the largest size these come in. The other option is a xd/Smartmedia adaptor that also works fine with the EMX. XD cards are heaps easier to find as well, but even they are becoming hard to source in sizes of 128 MB or less.

I did not know that.

What do you use the card for? (I thought ESX-1 was the only electribe you could "load" samples on to.

You can use the card on the EMX 1 as a back up of your sounds, songs and patterns, and...if for any reason you delete all the data on the device...you can download the sounds again, ie. from another EMX or through the net, using a computer. Very Happy

There's only 256 pattern slots on the EMX1 - which don't take long to fill.

Also, I swap patterns with a friend so we can work on each others songs so loading and saving is very important
