Greetings,

I'll try to convey this as accurately as I can.
When I use my Padkontrol to connected to a Garageband software drum instrument (Rock drums) the pads will occasionally mistrigger(?) when using them. Also my velocity LED readings after each tap will be incredibly varied and inconsistent even though I'm using the same pressure to tap, (at least I think I am). The LED velocity readings are very inconsistent. For example: 100, 80, 45, 65, 110...etc.

I mostly use the bass and the snare pads. Specifically, when I tap the snare pad, it will occasionally sound different. Like a lighter and softer version of itself instead of the usual hard snare I'm used to. Like two different samplings of the snare. It's random. And when the softer snare sampling occurs, I notice that the LED has recorded a softer tap.

I know that the pads are velocity sensitive, but it will do this even when I'm using the same consistent force when hitting the pads.

I've loaded the Garageband Scene preset which was one of many that came with the Padkontrol Library to operate with Garageband.

Is it trying randomize my pad strikes to make the drums sound more natural, or is this a velocity issue?

Any thoughts on this pad trigger inconsistency.

I noticed the sticky posted about the sensitivity settings, but I'm not sure how to implement it. Do I hold the keys down while powering up the unit.? How long do the keys need to be pressed, etc?

If someone has GB at home, can you test this on your unit, and see if this happens to you? You can first load the Garageband Scene that is included in your Padkontrol library first.

thanks,

Hairfarm

I just got my padKontrol last week, so I'm no expert on it, but I think that you should choose different velocity curve. Looking at the manual, a curve like C-6 will give you two levels so that you will either get a middle velocity or all the way up to 127. Or you can set a pad to a fixed velocity if you are looking for the bass and snare to be the same each time.
