|
|
Hi again
I decided to get either a spider or a spider pro...
Now... what are exactly the differences between the two? Besides the regular being cheaper
The K&M website says the pro's upper tier is tilted more but is the tilt adjustable in any way? And isn't the pro version actually shorter then the regular? The height is kinda important to me, 'cause I'm a tall guy (195 cm)
Which one should I get?
I'm using an M3-73 and a Triton LE76.
I might also get a second one later and place my keyboards next to each other instead of a 2-tier setup for a better on-stage look |

I had the same decision over a year ago. I am 6' 2"
and have 3 boards to stack ( rd700sx, Triton Extreme 76 and XS Motif 76)
My Rd700sx is on a Quic Lok WS550 table top stand
I set the arms up above that on my Spyder pro to support the Extreme and XS
The arm tilt is critical for me to see the LCD on my Extreme. The arms tilt down on a 20 degree angle
The maximum heigth on the Pro allows enough ' clearance ' between the arms supporting the Extreme and XS
Study the dimensions carefully between the Spyder and the Pro. I do not recall a significant height difference
My Pro came with a set of 3 adjustable arms. I am using 2 sets _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

So you got the pro version and you're happy with it?
Any regular version users? I wonder if the upper tier with no tilt is any good.
The K&M website says this:
Spider: Wt: 9.2 kg; H: 1410 mm, Depth: 280 mm.
Spder pro: Wt: 9.7 kg; H: 1310 mm, Depth: 300/475 mm.
Looks like the regular is 10 cm taller.
Thanks for your reply |

thats good to know, the 'regular' is 4 inches taller.
Very happy with the Pro. It was the best solution for me
The tilt arms and support of extra wide ( 16 inches) workstations was a must have for me _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I just ordered a Pro... I'll probably be gettin' second one in a few months.
Btw, the funny thing is that I ordered it from Germany for less than I'd pay for the regular one (which is like 20% cheaper than the pro) in Poland, including shipping |

Hi!
Good choice!
My personal opinion is always to get the best you can afford at the moment: if you have enough money to buy the Pro, than get it, in the future you'll have the opportunity to use it in the best way!
BTW, the main difference is the maxim weight capacity per tier, if you've got an 88 weighted keybs version probably the Pro is the best choice.

You know - the only thing that concerned me what its height.
But I guess I'll be using 2 single-tier ones anyway |
