Anyone have any rumours about what, if anything, Korg may offer at the Anaheim NAMM show next month?
Ciao,
Jerry

A new guitar tuner? Very Happy

But really I'm thinking they might expand on the M3 line a bit, like they did with the Triton series.

One given is the Kaossilator, which we already know about (Korg UK website).

I would guess that a new MIDI controller keyboard is on the cards, maybe with the new M3 homegrown keybed. Similarly another product range that hasn't had an update for a while is the Electribes so maybe we'll see something new there too.

Korg Oasys OS 2.0 ... now that might be very interesting Cool That's not a rumour, it's just my wishful thinking Wink

Daz.

At least some new samples & programs for the M3 will be forthcoming.

I vote for a more budget-friendly field recorder.

Gorilla,
Last year you gave a great report for all of us who were not fortunate enough to attend the show. Would you ask the Korg reps about an arranger module for me again this year? Laughing

JerryT, my pleasure. Will do. An arranger module, would this be something that would replace the keyboards? Do they exist in other manufacture formats? Question

What could we expect maybe Arranger keyboard update..
since most Keyboard manufacturers, especially KORG, are focusing more on Arranger keyboards rather than Workstations.... !

I know Roland have discontinued there Fantom X range and are now doing cheap deals to get rid of them over here.

There is a big hint!!!!

I have been told they are releasing their version of the Oasys Killer!! I nearly fell on the ground and started laughing, the only way Roland could make a Oasys killer is if they release a hammer with Roland on it.

Gorilla,
An arranger module, for me at least, will not replace my keyboard. It will add flexibility. I will use it with various connected controllers. Most of my gigs call for midi accordion as well as boards. I also use a couple of other types of controllers including a strap-on keyboard. Now that I have wireless midi, a module would be ideal, that is; An interactive arranger module based on the PA-800 or PA2XPRO.
My first experience with midi was with the Korg i5M. in 1999 korg released the i40M and I used it on gigs until about 2 years ago. IMHO, the best arranger module on the market today is the GEM Genesys XP. Ketron has several arrangers available and just recently upgraded the Midjay. Orla and a couple of other companies continue to offer arranger modules.
I know a couple of midi guitarists that use various arranger modules with their midi guitar. Here is a video of a guitar player using one of the Ketron arrangers. It appears that he is changing the chords with a peddle board and playing the sounds on the guitar.

No matter bro … have a good time at the show.

Jerry
