I haven't been able to find many HD1 Oasys demos on the internet, and I can't try out an Oasys, because nobody around here carries them. Does the HD1 synth engine on the Oasys sound better than the sample playback engine on the M3? I've heard demos of some of the other synth engines on the Oasys, and almost everything I've heard sounds great, but I didn't here much HD1. I've played the M3, so I have an idea of what it sounds like. Could someone please give me some oppinions, and maybe some demos of both, so I can compare them?

Check the M3 forum. You'll see topic there "M3 vs. OASYS." I've posted some uncompressed wave files that demonstrate the sonic difference between the Triton and the OASYS. The M3's EDS-1 Engine isn't even close to the OASYS HD-1 engine.

My advice to you is just buy it! Forget the comparisons! Seriously.

I bought the OASYS based on sound quality ALONE! There are certain Combis and Programs that BY THEMSELVES justify its price tag! And 6 Months of having an OASYS and REALLY hearing the amazing sonic quality of it just makes everything else sound really shitty. Virus? Not even CLOSE! Waldorf? HA! Try getting the same parameters in a Waldorf like you can in the OASYS! And you know what? The OASYS just outperforms EVERY single Synth out there, because of how insanely DEEEP those Synth Engines are!

Just buy it, and I PROMISE that you will be even MORE amazed and you might even kick yourself for not getting one sooner because of how AMAZING of a keyboard it really is.

Sina

After listening to those Oasys demos more, I've definitely decided that I want one! However, I have to pay my other keyboards off first. Some of those demos sounded as good as a Synclavier! Wow! The Oasys is one bad mother! I've never heard any other synth that could do wave sweeps like that!

BTW, where can I hear some MOD7 demos?

Hi Josh,
Go here - http://www.korg.com/GEAR/prod_info.asp?a_prod_no=OASYS&category_id=1 then click on "mp3". Scroll down to the "MOD-7 Demos" link and Bob's your uncle.
Cheers,
Eric

Thanks guies. After doing some more research, I've decided not to get an Oasys after all, but I'm still considering an M3M. I'll miss the MOD7 option, and the wave sequencing though!
