as im a big gay noob on midi i wondering if any of you nice poeple could help me?

ive connented my electribe esx *out* to my soundcard (sb x-fi) *in*
when i open my music tracker up (fruity looops/ renoise)
and set the configs i get sound but its all blured.

fruity loops just sounds like it has a rag over the speakers and sounds nothink like the input.

and renoise just gives out poino keys lol.

i was wondering if there was anythink on the electribe that my be wrong.

ive read the manual part on midi (global, midi ext) but it does nothink?

no it's not the electribe...

you're confusing midi and audio here...

think of midi as a language... all it does is tell the computer and other device what note is being pressed, and what knob is being rotated... midi does not produce sound.... what renoise and fruity loops is attempting to do I bet is send those notes into their default soundd devices....

basically you need to change the sound it reproduces....

I don't use either although I've messed with renoise and it was pretty fun so I can't helop you, try locating the track that has sound coming out of it on the pc and changing the instrument that's pruducing sound...
