Hi from ben. You did not indicate if any sound can be heard from any of the four speakers. If only one side has sound, try changing the speakers from one side to the other, the speakers are interchangable... or the lack of sound could be the result of a wire having come loose during transportation. Or Maybe you have turned off the speakers (this is done in Global mode) ... I need to know more information in order to help you further... Ben. |

OK ! now try connecting an external amp WITH BUILT IN speakers to output (RIGHT L/MONO) See if you get sound from those outputs. (those outputs are located on the back panel). Sound out of these outputs indicate a good amp, and possibly bad speakers. No sound indicate possible bad amp but probably good speakers...
Or, try connecting another speaker by temporarily replacing one of the suspected bad speakers.
Do this by disconnect one of KORG's built in speakers and temporarily connect another small speaker in its place, one that you know is good...
Let me know the results. PS. Please make sure that you disconnect the keyboard while doing any work on it. |

There is nothing wrong with you speakers, audio jack connectors has nothing with your speakers, there is a small amplifier pa2020 inside if korg pa80 just for speakers.
But, i guess you are much smarten than i am... |

Hi Masi music! You did nat indicate if you opened the keyboard to see if a connector may have been disconnected as the result of vebration. I had such a problem with my PA-80 and reconnecting the connector solved the problem.
I didn't know that the outputs, located on the back panel, were not part of the amplifier as mentioned by Kravosas 2 (thanks for the info). I don't have a diagram of the PA-80. But I guess you're never too old to learn. I am only giving you suggestions to try to narrow and possibly solve the problem with your keyboard the easiest way possible. Not to determine who is much smarter than whom. Ben |

Hi Masi_Music,
very simple question, have you checked the settings in Global Mode.
There you can activate or mute the speakers as far as I remember.
See Output Controls and corresponding settings.

Hi choros,, just a reminder,, the pa80 resets speakers OFF ,to ON when the board is turned off .I had bad speakers on my pa80 also I think about a year or so ago, and the speakers in the pa80 are anything but good,
there are no markings, or name on them to compair to so I just went to radio shack and bought a set of small speaker boxes 4 1/2 x7"( just tell them you are working with 30 watts)took the speakers out and put them in the pa80 works great, better sound.I did not change the little tweeters. jim/p _________________ retired, in.texas,, banging on a pa1x |

Thanks for your note Jim,
yes you`re right. It really sounds interesting - replacing the
original speakers. (I remember your original post very well).
We will see.
Best regards
