Yes, I have exactly the same question.

I have several CD's full of techno music i.e. Depeche Mode etc tunes in MIDI format.

Chill my brotha,

Who said it can be done?
Just send him a PM.

you're mistaken, you can send the PATTERN DATA from the electribe to the pc and back... which means you can make backups and stuff... there is currently no software avalable to edit the stuff so backup and bank sharing is really the only thing you can do.... to do this you need a smart media card for electribe smart media card reader for pc...

When you transfer patterns from point A to point B will they have the same sounds associated with them when they were first created or just the "note data"?

If everything is transfered, why can't we create an area where we can free distribute our patterns?

you could, but think about it as a memory dump, you can't share just one pattern.

So it would have to be 256 patterns or 0 patterns?

Hmmm .. Thats a wee bit limiting , korg should have thought the mx out a little more . Still , i like the idea of sharing more rather than less i suppose .
Another thing to b resolved by Emx2 then ...

I just invited Brian Rath Product Support for Korg Keyboards, Modules, Recorders, Dance/DJ Products to join us here in the Electribe Forum.

I suggest others email him here brianr@korgusa.com and do the same.

I think eventually if enough interest is shown, he will drop in.
