I've had my kaossilator for about a month and I must say that it's not very useful but it's extremely fun and worth the price.
I use it for some freaked out solos and it's great for that purpose.

I can also see some use if you're in to Daft Punk kind of music.

I must recommend this little toy.

I do believe I saw some sort of prototype that implemented that function.

Will edit if and when I find it.

The Yellow Album

Produced and performed exclusively on the Korg Kaossilator. No other effects, EQ or sounds were added other than those incorporated in the original device. Audio was recorded directly off the unit and the only edits performed externally were simple volume balancing.

You know, i'm really surprised that actual keyboards don't have some form of Y-axis sensors on them - like individual vertical ribbon controllers ON THE ACTUAL KEYS themselves, so you can slide your fingers back and forth for additional and extremely dynamic live modulation.

Along with velocity, mono aftertouch, and the mod wheels, it would make a keyboard as expressive as a guitar is.

3- or 4-dimensional live sound manipulation

Modulation is where it's at!

some do.. even going back to the early 80s. buchla for example made a keyboard where each key was basically a ribbon. theres a few out there just google..

And why does the German Korg site just look slicker than the .com or .co.uk ones?

I love reading being able to read german.

My buddy just ordered 2 of these. The idea will be to have kaossilator parties.
