I've owned my Karma for 4 years and suddenly when i hit a key I can hear hissing and a high pitch squeal sound. I have reinstalled the system and it still makes the same sound. All the effects, everything makes this awful sound. I did test my headphones only on it and it still made the sound, so I know it isn't my mixer. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix my problem??? I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks everyone.

Hi ,

I just happened to see your post. I am sure you mite have found your problem by now. Just wanted to tell you any way, that this could be a case of bad exb-pcm card in one of your karma slots. try removing it ( left end, top corner).

regards

Hi there, unfortunately it is not that, but thanks for trying to help me. I have no card in there and it still makes distorted noise when it is played. I need to send it out again and have it diagnosed. I have sent it out in the past to get fixed because I did short it out by accident by putting a card in the slot while the karma was on. It was fixed and it worked great for a couple of years and then just started suddenly with the noise problem. It comes and goes, but it may be here to stay this time. Its is sad because I use it along with my Yamaha to record. Thank you very much for caring.

Sadly, it sounds like service is needed.
My Karma has a few crotchity buttons, so it needs some work also, but I just have withdrawals thinking about being without her, even though I have an M3, TR, and a Motif Rack.
Silly, I know, but the Karma has been so special to me for so long now.

Best of luck, keep us posted, in case someone else has the problem also.
Regards,
