No. If you want a Christmas Light Show with bells and whistles that will subside after the novelty has warn off, get the Tyros. If you want a good sounding professional feel and a keyboard that has almost un-noticeable progression, the Pa1x is the baby.
I am a Jazz, Rock, Gospel and Pop singer (vocal singer), song writer. This is the best tool I have purchased since my Triton Studio and my Korg D16xd Digital Recorder. The Pa1x is a pro keyboard. A lot will depend on your level and where you are in music. I have been around the corner a couple of times. I am very satisfied with the Pa1x and the support I have received from the forum members.
In addition, if you are buying it brand new. Make sure the retailer has a return policy. If for any reason you are not satisfied return it unmarked and unscathed. If you are buying it from Ebay or a private person if it does'nt have a transferrable warranty (Fogetaboutit!) Do the same with the Tyros. Take notes and pray. This is a serious decision you are making. Don't leave any stones unturned.
There is nothing more I can tell you but. DO IT!!

Galettouille, why wait for 12 days. You did not explain. Ahmedjordan is searching for real answers. Why not give him the reason why he should wait for 12 days. Give the member an answer, dude. _________________ AJ Johnson ( Gorilla )

for my taste it sounds tooo much synthetic and not realistic like Korg PA1X.
so i had the chance to play both for a few hours and to check on each intrument - i want never buy a yamaha - not the right keys for me.

I think he could have an "official" information about the famous "biiiiig lie" "fake".
It seems that I said a lot of things in my precedent messages.
Notice that since I'm on this forum, I usually don't give my feeling : I give informations. Only when I have them.
For a few days I say : it's not a fake. The PA2x is shown on french official catalog. Wait 12 days.
Is it possible to be clearer?
About the Tyros II : styles are not as good as in PA1x/2x/800. Some solo sounds are far better : SA guitars, Saxes, Strings. The others sounds are as good as in PA. Very limited sound editing. Starting a midifile after a style is instantaneous. Using the songbook in the PA1x, it takes a while. _________________ http://galettouille.perso.neuf.fr/ |

Like I said, I have no opinion about this. Only informations.
It could be not completely impossible that some members of this forum have a light tendency to be close-minded... _________________ http://galettouille.perso.neuf.fr/ |

A lot of people asked korg to have this kind of screen. We can't see anything under 3 or 4 PAR 64 lights, or simply under sunny day light.
They also have reduced the width, for transport in car. _________________ http://galettouille.perso.neuf.fr/ |

Hi ahmedjordan
It depends on what kind of music you play, and as I can guess you play arabic music, yamaha offers more realistic arabic drumkits and styles then korg, the styles sounds amazing during live performance, but a good style is not enough you need good samples and sounds too, and I played on the tyros 2, the arabic samples and sounds aint good as korg;), there's a world of differece between them. I'd wait for 12 days and c what comes out:p
Take care!

hi guys, thanx for the repleis very co-oprative, well regarding the sounds i care less about the arabic drum kits, because i made mine on the Pa1x my own samples , as tabla, req, tar, dof, sagat, made in a friends studio, so i guess i can use the same, what i care about is sounds, well for arabic samples, to have a nice sampler strings, oud, kanoun, accordion, Kawala, nay, and arabic percussion kit, is NO WAY with a 32 M ram, i bought the Pa-800 man its so poor, sounds diffrent on stage, there was a factory problem, the left speaker was loose, so i had to open the pa800 to fix it, i was not glad at all with what i saw, 2 really small boards inside and very cheap finishing, the keyboard touch is LAWZY, the vocalist is really bad, did you know that there is no Rams in the pa800 build in rams which is really cheap thats why its price-cheap keyboard the pa1x i prefare it more but i need more space more ram like 1 giga,, more than enough for me ,,, sound wise i've downloaded piles and piles of demo's i like the sounds and i love the CD kind of music, at least it doesn't sound weard when you finish a salsa style like the pa1x salsa, i'm still a pa1x lover, its a great keyboard but i made up my mind regarding the tyros 2 ( because i already sold my pa1x ) there is no turning back, and if i dont like it i bought the tyros 2 from a friend of mine that has 1 giga ram and 200 giga hard disk for little money, so lets pray it works out good. regards for all the ppl who replied my other post. god bless you all |
