just wondered what other forum members thought about Korg releasing some PC editing software for the PA? i for one think it would be great, to be able to edit sounds, styles and performances via such software...(just look at yamahas studio solutions..all free and they allow remarkably in depth editing of pretty much all facets of their boards)....i wonder if we set up some sort of poll, whether Korg would notice?????...
what do others think?............

hi keys,

i totally agree with you - would be fine if there is a possibility to get this.
on top of your points the topic style organization would be nice with such a tool (that you can move all the styles on your key on any available places (including direct-hd).

korg, this is your chance to get customer satisfaction - takt it !!!

There is a program called "Style Works." This may not be what you want, but I believe it is an editing program. If I misunderstood your request I apoligize.

YES! We needed a pc-based editor.

My other boards (Yamaha, Roland) came with nice editing software.

I bought the PA1X-PRO somewhat on impulse because it sounded so good. Had I done a bit more research on the total package, I would have stopped and paused once I reallized the PA1X-PRO did not have an editor.

Does the Tyros 2 come with one?

Korg... you must have something used interally. Release it to your customers... PLEASE... for FREE!

Dave

Am I wrong, or the Tyros came with a Sound editor for PC?
Pa1X has it onboard. Tyros requires a PC for editing sounds.

hi paolo,
hope all is good with you.........

i think its not so much editing sounds on PC, but being able to re-organise styles, edit styles as well as sounds..and yes all of this can be achieved on the PA itself, but it is not the most user friendly system going around....is it? plus its fiddly and frustrating at times... korg has the hard bit done, they have the interface to the PC already (the USB port) so i reckon porting some software to be able to do these things on a PC, whilst i accept isnt shelling peanuts, it can be done....i would be happy to pay for such software, i do not expect it for free......i believe the reasons the Tyros 2 and the 1 before it sell so well and the online yamaha communities are so well populated is that there are 3rd party software programs available for people to tweak their hearts out (if korg even just gave some assistance to rick escercito with his PRM program, jeez, most of the programming work has already been done...you would have an easy to use style organiser almost immediately)...korg could come to the party by relesing software that allows users to fully edit their styles on a PC...........and another point is this........really, on a price basis, there isn't much between the PA and the Tyros 2, there's not much difference in sound/style quality between them, so why do more people buy them???? lots and lots and lots of online support from other users, together with lots of 3rd party software that enables this support and sharing.....i'd better stop coz this is getting too long, maybe some others can add why some software would be a huge boost for Korg..
all the best m8,
dennis

hello paolo and all,

and the fact is - editing on the pc is quite more easy than on the little display (pc most have a 17-19" TFT or Monitor).

Maybe the organization of the sample ram is a good point too.
Move samples, change samples on the same place ....... complete sample organization structure - make them visible - at the moment it´s a kind of dark box and everything can happen if you delete s sample, but make it shure for us users.

wish you all the best

I asked Mr. Trammanoni to help me understand the file format of PA1X. I can develop a tool with features that follows:

• Explore PA1 set file.
• Edit locations of sounds, styles and performances(drag-drop).
• Import samples and muti-samples from another set.
• Load sounds, styles and performances from another set.
• Edit the song book.
• Provide user friendly interface and simulate PA1X screens.
• Use C# and Visual Studio 2005 for development.

I even did not get a reply from him.
