Hi everyone, new to the forum

A question for the ek 50. If I hold down one key, and play other keys at the same time, is there anyway to make the initial key sound not be heard until any other keys that I'm playing are released?

Currently if I hold down one key and play others, the initial key sound can be heard... However is it possible to have it not heard until the other additional keys being played are released?

I'm racking my brain here and can't think of or recall reading about such a feature. Think

From what I have seen, the EK50 doesn't allow for deep dives into sound editing.

It might be worth exploring some of the Synth category sounds in the EK50, since it is possible there may be examples of mono- as opposed to polyphonic synth sounds where, if a single note is played, followed by second note, then the sound of the first note will disappear. What happens to the first note when the second note is subsequently released depends on how that sound has been set up internally. It may be that the first note can be heard again, but it might also require the first note to be played again, in order to re-trigger the sound. I don't have an EK50 to hand to try this, but I do know this kind of thing is possible on Korg keyboards like the M50, Krome, and Kronos.

This works with keyboards with monophonic sound and very long decay times until the key is released. Monophonic means one note at a time

If further keys are pressed after a key without the previous keys being released, only the last key pressed will sound. If all pressed keys except the first one are released, then this key only sounds if it has an envelope with a decay time so long until the key is released.

Legato is something different - a note is extended by pressing the key for a longer period of time, and the previous key is only released with the next key press. But also this only works with long envelopes - or sustain pedals.

The EK-50 sounds cannot be switched from poly to mono and there is no option to connect a sustain pedal.

Interestingly, I imported some sets from a PA50 and I can hold down one key and play others at the previous held note will cut off..... I guess there would be a possible option in the effects settings, but not sure...
