Here's a little video of my children honoring the victims of Sandy Hook. The strings are from KARO's KSL library. All other programs are factory.
SANDY HOOK CHRISTMAS TRIBUTE
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. |

Nice...thanks for posting the tribute Mike. Very touching and the kids were brilliant!
Well, before I get into the Soundworld I'm off to watch the "Unofficial" OASYS DVD. I needed to brush up on how to control other instruments from the KARMA section and me and manuals just don't get along!

The DVD doesn't cover KARMA MIDI transmission, so I'll just tell you. Pick whatever Combi you want to play the 4 KARMA modules. Usually each one is on a different channel.
1)Select a Combi.
2) Press the KARMA tab (lower row).
3) Make sure you are on the GE SETUP/KEY ZONES page or press that sub-tab. On the bottom third of the screen, you will see the MIDI I/O section. On the left is the input channel, which is usually set to "Gch." What you are looking for is the OUTPUT CH, right across from that. Usually something like this:
Module 1 - Output ch. 2
Module 2 - Output ch. 3
Module 3 - Output ch. 3
Module 4 - Output ch. 4
4) Set your synths to receive on those channels.
5) If this isn't working, go to GLOBAL mode.
6) Press the MIDI tab and MIDI sub-tab. Under MIDI ROUTING SETUP, make sure the ENABLE KARMA MIDI MODULE TO MIDI OUT box is checked. |

Thankyou, rmvieira!
BTW, My wife's friend, Norma (of several years), shared this video with her circle of friends. A man asked her, "What CD is that song from?" So, Norma asks my wife, who says, "Mike scores all of his own music." Norma replies, "Oh my goodness! How come he doesn't get a job doing that?"
Two years ago, I was hired to shoot a video for Norma and her husband. I scored original music for it and they never noticed. It's odd that so many people think that I just pull music from my file cabinet.

Mike, a very emotional tribute. The music and your kids are super as usual. Some great parenting going on there. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year. _________________ Kronos 2 61, Wavestation A/D, Yamaha Genos and others. |

What a wonderful idea Mike; and beautifully - and so simply - done!
On hearing the news over here in the UK, after the gut-wrenching reaction my next thought was 'what will Christmas (and ALL Christmas's) be like for these families'.
I think you found a good way of bringing a comfort to those families through this piece/video.

Definitely, Denny. My youngest son is the same age as most of those kids and our family had a group cry as soon as they got home from school, that day. Making this was a pretty good way to cope with the emotions.

Thanks. It was my wife who came up with it and put us on task.

Hey, Cello. My thoughts as well and I can't imagine. Hopefully, the outpouring continues and they find the slightest comfort knowing that their grief is shared by most of the world. |

Thanks Mike. Can't wait to try it out. Cello and Dany are controlling parts of the Jupiter-80 that way. _________________ .:':. Soundworld A.D. .:':.
