Why do some keyboard sets not make any sound?
For example, under the Jazz category, The Big Band Shufle style, keyboard set 1, upper 3 makes no sound, though it's a Horns Swell 2 DNC instrument assigned and the level is all the way to 127.
On the mixer, I see no flashing orange at the bottom of track indicating MIDI data. All these upper keys are supposed to be played with the right hand side of keyboard. Upper 1 & 2 make sound, but Upper 3 is not.
Any idea why?

I also noticed the same. However, I did something on the sound edit and also on the Mixer (its a shame, I don't remember quite exactly what I did), but then eventually all the sounds came up. Look into the Mixer and edit the Upper 2 and Upper 3 parameters; hope that helps.

If KBD Set by default has muted Upper 3 , then it's logical since this KBD Set was made only for 2 upper sounds , I do the same in my development !
Upper 3 is ignored and was not meant to be there at all , so developer have not set the proper parameters in send/split/velocity/octave orientation for
this upper slot , just get used to the KBD Set development it has a specific purpose.
You can always create your own KBD Set with any combination of sounds.

I'm wondering why there are 3 uppers if it only can support 2? It would seem that providing factory presets with a non working upper 3 would just cause a lot of tech support calls.

I'll try playing with the sound edit and mixer some more, but so far, my tinkerings have not made upper 3 make any sound or receive any MIDI day (I assume that's the "light" that blinks at the bottom of mixer channel).

There are 4 slots in KBD Set , create your own one from scratch and all will work exactly as you want but when creator develops
an instrument sound there , won't be obligated to give us a report of why he used 1 or 3 only slots ... you still don't get it !

I found out why there's no sound from that particular keyboard set:

The answer is in the KBD ensemble settings.
The Bottom Velocity for Upper 3 is set to 94 in that style program. If I really slam hard on the keys, it WILL make a sound.
In this style, it's intended to make the brass "flare" when playing at high velocity, adding extra punch to the brass. If the velocity is lower than 94, the sound does not trigger.
