1.2.1 was released last January and developers can't work towards the next update that quickly. Certainly not with a completely new OS. That's just how it works in the software world. They do not employ thousands of developers like Microsoft or Apple to deliver software on command.

In addition, I have the feeling that the musicians here on this forum who have the fewest complaints about Korg's software update speed are precisely the people with the highest level of expertise in using the Korg. These people, among other things, make beautiful software packages or know how to make beautiful videos that explain how the Korg functions. Is it strange that they can get by on that in-depth level of knowledge? No it is not, Pa5X is a great product what only need some extra features and fixes.

Nope , OS v.1.2.1 was released a while ago 11/10/2023 and major v1.2 at 6/30/2023 to be precise.

So far, no-one has received any meaningful response from Korg since the "no more direct contact with owners" management decision - the best we have is an 18-month-old page of FAQs which commit nothing.

That is not true, see my thread with a message from Korg UK.

That reply says and commits absolutely nothing just like the nearly 2year old FAQs and recommending to talk to the Distributors is a cop-out.

I do not believe it has anything (or little) to do with update speed - if you read the concerns you'll see that they are mostly about Korg's total failure to communicate and hence, terrible customer service - nearly 2 years and it is not working according to its specifications and no word from Korg. Right now, I (we) have nothing on which to base expectations.
Of course there'll be bugs but first, it needs to be finished - then I'll buy it.

Very Happy

I hear what you are saying but what are the specifications you mentioned?

I know the whole manual and everything described is working. So what specifically specifications are you referring too.

By the way , the only AFAIK that is written and not valid is "users can create custom DKs with round-robin"
where definitely Round Robin can not be applied until allowed !
For the rest you believe that are not valid , let me know and I will confirm or not !

This is why I will not buy this time. I've been able to maintain and enhance all the music I play (and for my band) when upgrading each arranger generation but the PA5x will not enable me to do that due to its problems and limitations plus my waning confidence in Korg. I've owned every generation of Korg arranger since the i2 - yes, they all start with bugs but the PA5x (IMHO) was released too early and Korg clearly are having problems fixing it - could be due to staff shortage, priorities, or whatever - who knows?? They don't communicate any more. This saga has taken way too long and in silence.

I'm waiting....

Very Happy

Look at this, Korg releasing new products and NO sign of PA5X news.
"Maybe" they are working on fixing the bugs in PA5X and soon we may have our update with the features requested and bugs fixed.

Pianoshack or something like that is the name of this guy, who gets some beta testing Keyboards for some weeks, So, He is NOT AN EXPERT, cool guy but it ends there, No deep information, Just opening a Keyboard Box, and plays,
So for me this is like NOTHING bigg.

If korg gives him free things, for sure he will LOVE it, and tell uss all to buy it ,

If KORG are creating all other things , Well the must also fix 5X OS , Soon.
It has been a long time waiting, and i hope they will do it soon.

I think KORG has been "trapped" with Pa5X. The problems are many and can't solve them easily. Even the Songbook Editor isn't ready, yet!!! They told us that it would be ready in 2023!!!

Regards,
Dimitris

Hi,
I think Dimitris is absolutely right on this one.

O/S 1.2.1 was launched at the start of January this year, and already there are five pages of posts detailing problems encountered with the PA5X after loading the latest O/S.

Actual bugs reporting concerning OS v.1.21 start from 4th page
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=129358&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45
and most of them are concerning not compatible resources issues.

I think it will take maybe another 2years for KORG to get rid of all those critical bugs.
