Hi everyone, my English is not that good and I am working with a translator.
I bought a used Korg i 30 that was reset and installed with floppy disks before it was sold to me.
Unfortunately, the previous owner didn't give me any floppy disks for whatever reason.
I tried to do something with the i30 today, but I'm just starting out with the operation, are there any instructions in other languages as pdf ?
Wanted to play the demo both buttons printed and then it says print start/stop button I tried .
Printed both start buttons on keyboard but the demo did not start .
What kind of disk do you need for the I30, 720 KB or 1,44 MB ?
Under the wheel are 2 keys + and - these can't be printed like the others but like touch, is this normal or are they broken?
I am trying to get the keyboard working again .
Unfortunately I can not upload pictures or not yet unlocked.
I have revised this text again .
Thank you |

http://zine.r-massive.com/korg-i-series-factory-disks/
Found this one right below my post
Korg i-Series Factory Disks
Korg i-Series Factory Preset Disk Bundle
Korg i-Series User Disk Bundle
Korg i3 Preload Disk
It says I series so also for i30 I think.
But I read that there are 2 disks to install.
Do I need them for a reset ?
Korg i-Series Factory Preset Disk Bundle
And this one for installing ?

OK. Sorry, I should have said that the forum thread in the second link had some defunct links.
However, the third link should work, unless there is a some sort of problem with the website and the region you're in.
Here is a direct link to the factory preload file from the third link above. It may work for you:
http://anniem38.tripod.com/i30FactoryPreload/I30preld.zip
If you're still struggling to download the preload file, you could try using a VPN that's based in a different world region.

Demo mode is entered by pressing the "Song Play" and "Disk" keys simultaneously. The songs should then be playable by pressing the "Start/Stop" key.
Resetting the keyboard is detailed in the Sweetwater link in my previous posting.
The link to the OS Update to v2.1 is in the tripod.com link:
https://silverhawk33.tripod.com/id4.html
If you still cannot access it (have you tried a different browser/computer) then here is another link:

And this does not work when I press the Start / Stop button
Both links work here .
Now I don't know how to start ?
1. reset
2. reinstall OS
3. install Korg |

1. Keyboard Reset:
Keyboard Reset:
How to Initialize (reset), and preload on the Korg I30
Initialization: Hold Arr.Play and Global while turning it on.
Preload: Disk Load (I30FD00P)
ROM Check: Given on power up.
Download Disk ?
Number of disks:
==================================================================
2. Keyboard new Install:
Keyboard new Install:
http://anniem38.tripod.com/i30FactoryPreload/I30preld.zip
Number of disks:1
==================================================================
3. Keyboard OS Update
Keyboard OS Update (Upgrading the i30's Operating System:):
http://glenscomputer.tripod.com/misc/i30_213.zip
Now, to the i30. The power is off. Hold down,
both at the same time: the KEYBOARD MAIN
and BACKING SEQUENCE buttons while you
power on the i30. This will put the i30 into the
Operating System upgrade mode.
Have Disk 1 ready to insert when the i30 asks
for the "A" file (Disk 1 contains BOTH the OS Files
"A" AND "B", Disk 2 contains "C", so DO NOT be
tempted to remove Disk 1 when it says that "A" is
loaded and wants "B". "B" is STILL ON DISK 1!!!
The i30 will simply move onto file "B" by itself,
while Disk 1 is still inserted into the i30.
ONCE BEGUN, DO NOT INTERRUPT THE
LOADING PROCESS. DO NOT TOUCH ANY
BUTTONS DURING THE LOADING PROCESS.
AFTER file "B" is loaded, THEN and only then
remove DISK 1, and insert Disk 2, which contains
file "C". When "C" is finished loading, you will then
see that the i30 now shows 2.1.3 at the upper left hand
corner of the screen. Remove disk 2. At this point,
you can actually start using the i30, although as with any
updating of any OS, it might be a good idea to shut
off the i30 and "reboot" it.
Number of disks:2
--------------
Hello ,
I have summarized all this now but is the same disk for reset and reinstall ?
Or have I misunderstood something ?

The two .exe files, contained in the i30_213.zip file, need to be run on a PC to create the two OS upgrade floppy disks. When this is done, there should be two upgrade files (A and B) on the first floppy, and one upgrade file (C) on the second floppy.
What setup are you using for playing? Is the keyboard connected to an amplifier/amplified speakers, or to headphones?
The i30 has no inbuilt speakers.

I have connected the i30 to headphones.
But is reset and new installation of the i30 the same disk.
With OS update I understood that there are 2 exe files and these should be executed under Windows so that the disks are created. |
