I recently experienced a couple power down of the pa1000. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be power supply brick? Or?
I plug it into a battery back up surge protector… |

Simple battery backup solutions protect against damaging power surges and thus prevent possible data loss from computers through power stabilization.
As soon as a power surge or also power outage occurs, the backup battery kicks in almost immediately and powers the devices for a short period of time.
This solution is poorly suited for a Pa1000, because it obviously means that a short-term power interruption occurs after a slight drop in the mains voltage, as soon as the power is taken over directly from the mains again.
Short interruption will cause the procedure of turning off the instrument to standby - same happens if you keep power button pressed for about one second and then release it: the screen appears dimmed and the shutdown procedure will begin (power down).

Instead of a cheap battery backup, for power surges a simple surge protection is better suited.
For instruments on stage if you intend a real uninterruptable power supply, then use a “real” UPS that has more sophisticated technology in how it works with electricity than the previous normal battery backup. "Genuine" means that it is a real UPS and not some battery backup products that some manufacturers call "UPS" even if they do not have a switching system.

The UPS supplies power to the devices connected to the UPS via the battery. The power source charges the battery in standby situations and when needed, the battery supplies power to the electronics. Instead of waiting for a power outage, a true UPS always delivers filtered power from a “reservoir” of clean power. Therefore, the switching time is very short or can even sometimes be neglected during a low power power outage. The constant, reliable and filtered power source for your electronics is realized.
The UPS has more advanced features and can protect against surges, brownouts, blackouts and other power problems. The UPS, like previous battery backups, keeps your device(s) running depending on how large the battery is and how much power the devices require.
