Hi all
Is it possible to use the Volca FM as an arpeggiator for the ARP Odyssey?
I'm new to all this but having fun learning, just don't want to buy a Volca FM if it won't do what I need it to?
Thanks |

Yes and no, based on the user manual. The ARP Odyssey has a DIN MIDI In connector. The Volca FM (Mk I) only has DIN MIDI In. There is no MIDI Out, not CV Out. The Volca FM2 has a MIDI Out port, and requires a "Type A" adapter cable from DIN MIDI to the Volca FM2's 3.5mm TRS jack socket.

Thanks for that, I assume then that I need to be looking for Midi out on whatever I intend to use as my arpeggiator? |

I partly edited my last post to include the Volca FM2 (which CAN be used in the intended manner) before your reply appeared. Hope it doesn't cause too much confusion. And, yes. Look for something that, not only has MIDI Out, but also transmits Arpeggiator data to external devices, which the Volca FM2 can do, apparently.
