Hi. There are several Kronos 2 touchscreens available on ebay, etc. Will these work in a Kronos 1?
I've replaced several of these on the M3. Does anyone have the instructions for replacement?
Thanks! The correct screen model for a K2 is UMSH-8240MD-8T. Not sure about older Kronos units like the K1 or KX. I know for sure though remembering a video showing a LCD screen repair on an older Kronos that the wiring configuration is not the same, for example the backlight side connector is not needed/present on a K2.
To replace the screen, you need to disassemble pretty much everything, so be ready to transform your Kronos into a bunch of parts. You need to have a decent knowledge of electronics such as how to handle delicate components without destroying them with ESD, how to undo/reconnect several types of fragile connectors, etc. _________________ My Kronos 7 |

There were two versions of screen used on the original Kronos. The earlier Kronos units used screen part UMSH-8240MD-T, whilst later units contained UMSH-8240MD-6T, which was also employed in the Kronos-X.

I hear terms like "Touch Screen" and "LCD Screen" being used interchangeably. OP stated touch screen and wonder if that was also meant to include the LCD screen also?
Just to be sure:
Touch Screen: The panel that registers human/pen touches
LCD Screen: The screen that displays graphics |
