Suppose a style cycles over 8 bars: if I change the variation that I am using (eg from Var 1 to Var 3), I would like the style to always restart the style cycle at bar 1.

I assumed it would, but in fact if I am at (say) style bar 6, the new variation continues from that same cycle position.

It can be annoying - if the actual song does not follow a 8 bar pattern for the verse, chorus, bridge etc you can end up with style drum fills at song bars such as bar 2 where they sound definitely out of place.

I have searched settings, but can’t anything that would achieve what I want.

Is it possible??

Edit the style
For each VAR, change the "CUE MODE" to "NEXT MEASURE,FIRST MEASURE"
Write the changes....

This will achieve your requirement - as soon as you change VAR it will go back to measure 1

Makes sense, even though I have never edited a style before.
