|
|
My apologies if this is answered before…
Can I control the volume of a PaAS independent from my main pa (two pieces Bose L1 mod 2 with B2) ? .. is there a volume knob on it?
Or may be there is an input (stereo of.c) that I can feed PaAS from my mixer??
I’m afraid the only workaround is to set the main volumeknob on pa4x along with maxxeq etc, and THEN adjust the main pa volume and eq???
Currently I’m using a Bose compact and a mackie srm350 as stereo monitor. Wondering if buying one more compact, or go for the PaAS😀🎶 _________________ Plays Korg pa4x - Earlier: Ketron Audya - Solton X1, MS 60, MS 5, Yamaha - Hammond BCB - Rhodes 73 - etc |

The PaAS Amplification System does not have a volume control. It relies on the Main Outs levels of the Pa4x for its volume.
It may be possible to hack the PaAS hardware, to add a volume control to it, but that would require a working knowledge of electronics.

The Bose compacts are designed to go directly behind the player and eliminate the need for a monitor. If you have enough room on stage, try that as your solution. If you can't hear the compact, relative to the band, then the audience can't hear you either.
If the compacts are on the output side of a mixing desk for the band, that's a problem as you lose control of your own 'monitoring level' and I could understand why you would want your own monitor off the Pa4X.
Hope this helps. _________________ Korg Pa4X (OS NEXT 3.1.0)

It is a shame that there is no option to control PaAS volume via the assignable sliders. _________________ Korg Pa4X (OS NEXT 3.1.0)

Totally agree.. thanks for the answers. Now I think I know.
I’m mostly a one-man-band, so I’m the one who is controlling it all.. I’ve tried the speaker behind me solution the first years I went from Mackie to Bose (in 2010) I found I didn’t like it and shifted to two L1s, stereo, placed aside me on both sides, and a small stereo mixer. Much easier controlling feedback this way. Because I loose just a little of the high eq prom my position I feed two “monitors” (a compact and a mackie) directeded towards me, with the same mix as mains, at the lowest possible volume. This way I can bathe in a wonderful stereo mix☀️🎶 The wish was to quit the compact and the mackie and go for PaAS. Now I’ve found I don’t think it’ll work. _________________ Plays Korg pa4x - Earlier: Ketron Audya - Solton X1, MS 60, MS 5, Yamaha - Hammond BCB - Rhodes 73 - etc |

In ear monitors might be useful in this situation.
