i'm having some problems with some korg devices over midi and trying to control or sequence them over midi. I think I managed to get this to work previously but can't remember what I did or how I set it up to work?
at the moment I am trying to trouble shoot the kp3 and get the sample pads to trigger by a hardware sequencer, I have set them so they are one shot samples, I did try with loops as well but I think one shot should be ok as the loops have the bpm perfectly matched. I guess if it's no good I will have to prep loops though. but I haven;t even got that far yet. just trying to test out sample triggering.
the sample pads are set to the default for cc. for example the A pad is C2, if I program a note on message in the digitakt for note C2 the kp3 will not respond to this. if I press C2 key on the keystep the kp3 will not respond to this either. I have the midi channels matched. I have changed the midi filter settings so that everything is enabled over midi and I tried with auto, ext and int clock. I can control all the other functions of the kp3 over midi with the digitakt and cc but I cannot control the pads. the keystep will not trigger the pads either, I tried every note key on every octave and nothing triggered the sample banks even though they have been designated to a note in the kp3. it's very confusing as I can get all the other midi stuff on the kp3 working. xy pad etc.
is there a step by step guide on how to set up the kp3 for triggering the sample banks over midi? there must be something I have missed somewhere. something I need to set, enable or disable? |
