|
Hi,
This is for a friend who bought a Korg EK-50.
I've used the STS (Single Touch Setting) in other korg's model but I need to understand how it functions in EK-50.
Q1:
Is it possible to select a Style and save 4 STS (4 different sounds) with it and recall it during live performances?
The only way I could find is, to save a Style and its 4 different sound as a SET List in different banks.
Q2:
How can I play a style and switching to different sound (for ex; playing Sax and then switching to Strings, etc...) on the fly without saving as a Set List?
Thanks |

If I understand you correctly, and you may already know this.
*DISCLAIMER* I rarely.. mostly never, use STS.
Anyhow, the best I could suggest is select a style and tempo.
Hold SHIFT and select UPPER 1, 2 or 3. When you select say.. UPPER 1 it shows what the current sound is, you then rotate the wheel or use numbers to set any of the 800 or so sounds. Lock it in by pressing shift again. Do this for all 3 UPPER parts. Then save as a bank. So you could have piano as UPPER 1, sax as UPPER 2, strings as UPPER 3. Then 2 and 3 could be toggled during the performance keeping piano always on.
The LOWER needs SPLIT function turned on.
I hope that helps/confirms what you've found. _________________ EK-50 |

Thanks Garysog for your reply.
In other Pa series models I am able to save 4 STS (Keyboard Set) with a style and call them when playing a style in live performances.
Is it possible to setup the EK-50 the same way?
The only way I could find is to save 4 different STS (keyboard set) with the same style by memorizing the sound in each Bank (A-B-C,etc...).
Is this the only solution or I am missing some steps?
Thanks |

You are correct.
If you want to save 4 different keyboard sets with the same style you need to use 4 banks. _________________ EK-50 |
