Program A017 "Super Analog Pad" could be a useful starting point for the "string" sound. It might be worth playing the chord pads whilst altering Cutoff and Resonance using the front panel realtime control knobs, to get a feel for if this Program could be tweaked to be useful. The Attack time will need to be reduced to a value of somewhere around 10, to get close to the original. This is done in the P4 Amp/EG edit page, Amp 1 EG and Amp 2 EG tabs. The insert effects will need to be tweaked to get the necessary reverb/delay characteristic. If using an external reverb unit, e.g. Strymon Big Sky, it might be easier to get the desired effect using that.
Although Korg pushed the M50 more as a mainly bread and butter sounds instrument, it is capable of much more than that with a little effort.
See here, for example:

The soundset featured in the second link isn't available, sadly, but gives an idea of what the M50 is capable of.
The Access Virus has been an instrument of choice for many trance musicians.
