Hi,

Newbie here, so apologies if this sounds like a stupid problem.
I recently bought a Volca FM, and chain it to a Volca Beats. It’s great, and I’ve really enjoyed using them both, but just recently the FM keeps losing the tempo, and seems to randomly speed up at intervals once I press play on an arp sequence I’ve programmed in. There’s a video of the issue here, just so you know what I’m on about:

Any clues as to what’s causing it? It’s infuriating, because the minute it does it, it instantly loses the tempo as set by the Volca beats, so just randomly plays any old stuff until I stop it, which sounds horrendous when there’s a beat playing over it out of time!

Hi,

Does it work fine without the arpeggiator enabled?

Yeah, it seems fine - I've tried just playing it, and programming other arp sequences too, but it keeps doing it!

Do you have the Volca outputs go into a mixer with high impedance inputs, or are you passively summing them with something like a cable splitter? Volcas have trouble syncing reliably in the latter case.

both volca outputs going into seperate channels on a mixing desk. you can see the whole setup in happier times here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xow1UDXKJI (about 2:30 in)

Are you using a TRS cable? I know this dropping time is common when using a TS cable instead.
