The more I'm looking into it thus more impressed I am with what's under the hood. Mind you I don't have any of them as of yet.

The Opsix and modwave oscillators do things that are only available in software synths as far I know. One oscillator modulating the other in a more complex way than just sweeping two oscillators together. Modal argon does also what both of Korg new ones are doing.

Especially the opsix uses wave folding as a modulator directly and not as a dsp effect (I'm not completely sure) but other synths like modx uses wave folding as a semi dsp / oscillator. But not as internally tight as Korg has done.

I have been piqued by this new kind of oscillators to have and experiment with either the opsix or modwave and Modal argon are on my list to look into this.

I‘m not impressed with Modwave , Wavestate etc. They sounded boring and thin compare to the new Version of Specteasonics omnisphere. Korg is going the cheap Route again, but not with me.

Opsix has no low end , no punch, awful sounding Ringmodulator, and behind sounding compare to Yamaha FM Synths. All they new Stuff (Modwave, Wavestate,Opsix ) sounding like a cheap VST Plugins.

These synths can have a lot going on down at the "low end" if an external 61, 73, 88-key MIDI keyboard is employed, or the Octave - key is used.

Agree, especially the ModWave. To me the best of the group. Cool
