Hi all, unpacked my new EK50 this week and early opinions of it are favorable. It has some great sounds indeed, and complements my Yamaha PSRE463 nicely. If I have any early ''grey areas''at all, the ''button holding'' and double pushes for some of the menu functions could have been designed a little better, IMO. After owning and using mostly Yamaha keyboards, their menu system is so user friendly and simple to understand, that the EK50 will just have to be ''patient'' with me until I get to ''drive it'' at full speed. I like the way Yamaha's work in that every function for each of the voices is accessed by simply pressing the function button, then using the jog wheel to change and modify everything for that particular voice. So simple and logical. Each to his or her own, but if the EK50 had that, it would be a Yammy killer, IMO. |
