As a big fan of performance oriented sequencers, this thing will definitely be joining my sequencer station in my music room. _________________ Stuff I'm using: Umm right now, well there's a Volca Drum, a Micro Freak, an ADX-1, a Pulse, a Blofeld, a UNO Drum, KeyStep/Beatstep Pro/Keystep Pro (one of each), a Circuit, a LiveTrak L-12 and this nonsense: The Brief-case as it was about a bit over a year ago (the the complete ridiculous GAS monster collection here)and here |

I've noticed that Korg have removed the Mini 2600 from the SQ-64 promo pic. _________________ Synth DIY Projects |

For EDM, possibly, but certainly not on its own. It will probably find more use in ambient music creation, experimental music and Tangerine Dream type stuff. Modular synth owners will probably have a ball with this.

You can use it for that or you can maybe use it for playing backing melodies while you play a solo over the top with your lead synth. Or you can use it to help do a cover of Tubular Bells. So many things you can do with a looping pattern step sequencer with a song mode.
Fun Fact: Both the Strauss's were famous for composing dance music...

I was curious that maybe "64" stood for 64 track hardware sequencer, and 4 ports in/out.
And ability to seriously sequence outside computer. A portastudio with 32 tracks at least, and it would be done.
But not even a single din midi port is there - you have to use an adapter from 3.5mm to din midi even????
Unclear if shipped with unit.
Blähhhh.... _________________ MIDI gear: Sequential REV2.16, Prologue-8, Hammond XK-3C, Kawai MP7SE piano, Nord Lead 2X, Roland D-05 |
