|
|
Hello. I've been importing some samples into my Triton LE via smartmedia, and most of them have a sort of slapback delay effect when playing them back from a drumkit on the global menu.
Any idea why this would be? It's as if it's triggering twice over itself. Also many of the samples have crackling noise over the top too. Is it a RAM problem, or something else I'm missing? Cheers. |

It's bad ram. You need very specific type of ram, you need one with 4 horizontal chips and one vertical, one-sided. |

|

Hello,
I recently purchased a Triton LE 88 and found this post useful. I found some old computer RAM lying around and installed it and saw that it was recognized at 64 MB. when I loaded in any samples and played them they were all crackling badly and larger piano samples keymaps where completely corrupted. This thread help me to locate the source of this problem
I swapped out that RAM with another set and this crackling problem went away but the slap back type delay problem in the first post would happen on a largish piano sample after playing for about 10 seconds. This turned out not to be a RAM problem.
I had copied the grand piano D-64 to D-75 as a starting point from my piano sample and changed the osc's to point to the ram sample. It turns out that D-64 factory preset has a second master effect, a delay that for some reason does not sound when you select D-64. If you copy that program and change the osc to a sample it starts sounding after a few second of play. I just turned this effect off and the sample plays fine.
So if anyone out there has a LE-88 maybe you can verify if you see the same thing i did.
I'm just learning this keyboard so maybe i missed something comments welcome.
My keyboard has SW revision 1.51
