|
|
Hi! I have a problem with my Prologue 16, Multi Engine->
If the multi engine is selected (even if I completely close the volume level of that oscillator) a beep appears at 3000Hz, even with the entire filter closed and all the oscillator levels at minimum. If I put the third oscillator in the position of the VPM waves or noise generator, it does not do it or is hardly noticeable. Would it be possible to create a custom effect that attenuates that frequency?

No way should you accept this and try to fix by muting this sound - something is wrong with connections or the unit itself that must be fixed.
If on warranty make a good description and demo.
A couple of things
- disconnect everything from Prologue, no usb, no midi, no line out audio.
What you describe feel very much what can happend with ground loops of various sorts - you can get leakage from electronics inside.
So just use headphones and see if still there.
- if still the same - try take a line out and see if same on that as on headphone circuit.
- if still the same - what user oscillators have you loaded?
If any violate any conditions that apply writing that software.
I have one that at times have created klonk sound on every 4 voices played or similar, but goes away if turning multi engine volume down. But all fixed if power cycle unit - so just a rare fenomena.
- same with user effects.
As a last chance before opening unit and to look inside - unload user oscillators and effects to later put back if no help. _________________ MIDI gear: Sequential REV2.16, Prologue-8, Hammond XK-3C, Kawai MP7SE piano, Nord Lead 2X, Roland D-05 |

Hi Narioso! try this:
1 - Turn on the Prologue
2 - Set the volume to maximum.
3 - Put the attack in half
4 - Close the filter and the three oscillators levels
5 - Voice Spread in half
5 - Edit mode, key 6, last point, Program Level to maximum 6dB
6 - Oscillator 3 Position up, custom waves, put any.
7 - Put the drive (below resonance) to the maximum, at the top.
8 - Press at least 8 keys at the same time and hold, see if the beep is heard next to the background noise. |

I tried but not sure I follow
- close filter - like minimum crossover?
- oscillator 3 up - highest octave multi engine, or?
I am suprised you did not mention anything about resonance, because what I heard in your videos were much of that selfoscillating filter.
Or was that your eq plugin, really?
With resonance about 1 a.m. I see in display filter oscillate, and frequency goes with crossover frequency.
But I hear nothing that I do not expect - just a bit of noise. Listening on line outs on a mackie mixer, volume would be deafening if sound was up.
Moving filter crossover down below 12 o'clock or so some leakage from vco 1 even though all is off. But at pitches played. _________________ MIDI gear: Sequential REV2.16, Prologue-8, Hammond XK-3C, Kawai MP7SE piano, Nord Lead 2X, Roland D-05 |

I assumed that it was starting from the default path 001 "Runner Brass", the resonance at minimum, VCO1, VCO2 and Multi closed, and the octave does not matter. People from other forums have already tried it and they also find the peak at 3000Hz, so I must assume that it happens to all. The sound has nothing to do with the EQ, it can be heard directly with headphones direct to the prologue. |

Use a noise gate. |

The problem is not the noise, is the 3000Hz peak |

3khz is a noise.
Is it so loud you hear it when a voice is playing?
If not, use a noise gate.
If it is, it's broke. |
