"No Space Available on Medium" when I try to save my song files. What are my options? Anyone, please? Thanks!

Utility

Options.

See what SSD storage is available.

Also save your SEQ song to USB

My system memory is 2GB. Version 3.0.4 I saved the song to USB but when I try to load it back it will not bring the WAV files with it. Fortunately those WAVs are in a directory still in the HDD. This song file is hefty with WAVs. Is it possible to wipe clean the WAVs in the HDD and start building a new song file. Or is it such that I need to expand memory and if so where I can purchase it? I use a lot of audio in my work, then play along with that from numerous songs in my many set lists. I did check "Disk/Utility/Options but didn't see how much SSD there is. Perhaps it's because mine is a first generation Kronos 88? This has always been a looming fear of mine, what to do when I run out of memory. The time has come.

You almost have to get 4 GB RAM. I would make it a priority.

Total Size = 27G
Free Size = 169M

This after very reluctantly deleting some older songs. What's left I fear deleting to free up some space until i have a place that I know I can retrieve it.

Sounds like you need a larger SSD, not more RAM.

The SSD swap is simple enough, and there are plenty of guides and YT videos to follow along.

I'm in the weeds on YT now researching increasing both SSD and Ram. Have sent Korg support an email for direction. Question: The best source for a second SSD and Ram, what brand? Looks like I'll need a new SATA cable as well. This might be a job for my keyboard tech and I've got one if need be. I just seriously want to get this done and soon. You likely don’t need a second drive, and it would probably be best just to keep it simple with a single drive. I’ve got two, but the second is merely for redundancy of backups.

You can clone your existing SSD to a larger SSD. Many have gone the 250GB route, myself included, while some have used 500GB drives. If you opt for a 250GB drive you will likely have more than enough disk space for the life of your Kronos, unless you do a ton of sampling or sequencing onboard.

Get a good SSD - I went with Crucial, others I’ve read have used Toshiba or Samsung. It’s not a difficult process, if you’re familiar with computers and have access to one. You can buy a SSK DK100 to do the cloning for you, then you will only need to connect it via USB to expand the partition.

I'm going to ask an incredibly stupid question here. But is it possible to just back up to one of my three Lacie external hard drives via USB? It can't be that simple...

The only stupid question is the one not asked Smile

You can back up to an external drive via USB, or a USB memory stick. However, that isn’t going to solve your space issue unless I’m missing something here.

i'm trying to format the Lacie, it's taking a long time and might not work. I'll let it run a bit and see what happens. If I can keep everything on a larger external drive and load it from there I can move forward and at least get back to work. I'm with you, it can't be this simple. I think moving forward I'll switch to recording 16 bit instead of 24 to conserve disk space. At least now I know where to find how much space I've got and how much free there is. I'll report back how I come out on this. I could have probably done a better job of data management from the get go, but I didn't know. I just work, save it and hope it's there when I need it which it has always been. I first bought into Korg in 1984. I've tried all the other gear and Korg has proven time and time again to be the most reliable, by far.

Backing up to Lacie failed. I mean after about four hours only 2% was formatted so I aborted. I'll look into getting either a Toshiba or Samsung 250gb SSD somewhere. As for the second RAM still nothing back from Korg Support on that but I think those two would correct my woes. Looks like I need some sort of SATA cable and some screws too. Patience Gaston, patience! Thanks for the advice and direction you guys! Very much appreciated.
