What was the final outcome of the plastic on the PA3x mod stick area melting.
My keyboard was OK at the time, but now it's "melting."
At the same time, I looked at my two expensive brand name radios with the same plastic housing and they are all gummy too.
What I did with the radios was.....put ordinary Isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle and gently sprayed them....then took a clean cotton cloth and rubbed only a square inch at a time so I could concentrate on what I was doing. It removed all the "stickiness" but it DID leave "scuff" marks.
I don't care, it's only a radio. But my PA3x is mint. I'd like to keep it "mint."
Anyone have any good suggestions before I have to apply the same method to the keyboard?
Thanks |

Hi Reuben....thanks for your reply. Not looking forward to brutalizing my PA3x.
Now....did it ALL come off and it looks as good as new again? No "scuff marks if I'm careful?" Has the "sticky" come back at all?
I just Googled "what is methylated spirits called in the United States?" |
