If I understand this, the companies set minimum advertised prices typically called MAP. This does not help the companies, it helps smaller dealers. A large dealer can discount more or even at a loss just to bring attention to them or traffic which can hurt a small dealer.
This is common here in the states and I've had to abide to this practice as well. However, the dealer can sell it for whatever they want, just not advertise it lower than MAP. That's why you may see an add that says call for our low prices with no price listed.
Maybe that's not legal in the UK but it's common elsewhere.

That is absolutely correct. I was going to post the same thing. _________________ Stephen Kay - KARMA Developer • Karma-Lab - karma-lab.com

Just wait a while and buy second hand or ex-demo.
I've just picked up a Jupiter-X (ex-demo, perfect condition) for £1899 with full 3 year warranty - That's a £400 saving.
Look around, you'll always find a deal if you're willing to compromise. _________________ Synth DIY Projects |
