I have assembled reg's that include midi files in SB,and assigned them to a set list. I want to make sure they are backed up. Also,how can I copy the SMF portion to a pen drive to use elsewhere? Everything is in Direct,now.

You say you have set everything up as Direct. Great.

All you need to do then is copy that to a USB Flash memory (press Media button for copy options), and copy the flash memory to PC for extra backup.

See ‘File Management’ section of the Owner Manual for specific details.

PS: Pen drive and USB Flash memory are just different terms for the same thing.

Remember that a MEDIA>>Save ALL does nothing with any DIRECT data.

Your SONGBOOK/SETLIST will point to your MIDI files wherever they currently are - they MUST remain in the same locations (foldesrs) for the SONGBOOK/SETLIST to work - so if you ever have to restore you must remember where the MIDIs should go.

BACKUP:-
Backup all your internal data (new SET) with MEDIA>>Save All

Copy your DIRECT SET to a USB drive (or wherever) by means of the MEDIA>>Copy function
Copy your MIDI files to a USB drive (or wherever) by means of the MEDIA>>Copy function

Or make a full copy of your HDD/SDcard/SSD-DISK to external USB by means of the MEDIA>>Copy function

I perform full backups of the disk media regularly.
