Hello everybody.

I would like your help to solve a small problem.
I bought a Korg Kronos 61 (2011).
Everything was fine until I wanted to downgrade the system to version 2.
When you start it now, you will be working on the Loading Data Bank screen and will not leave it.

Has anyone been through this and could help me solve it?

Make sure all Kronos USB ports are empty and try booting again. If you can't get rid of the problem, you might have no other choice than to restore your Kronos with the DVDs. Never downgrade your Kronos, as you found out it can lead to problems. in any case, the last OS version offers very useful features like the quick split and quick layer, etc. I don't see why anyone would not want to enjoy those new features. Let us know if you could fix the problem.

Thank you very much for the answer.

It has nothing connected to it when it starts.
I think I will have to use the DVDs but I need to know where I can download them.

Could you tell me where I can download DVD?

You're welcome.

Hopefully someone here can make images of the 2011 Kronos DVDs for you. I have mine but they are for the Kronos 2, so they very likely would not work to restore your unit. If you can, please wait until tomorrow and if nobody else can help here, you could also contact Korg service by mail (Support@korgusa.com). They might make images for you as well or provide you a link.

In any case, let us know how it goes.

I will be hoping for a good soul to create the images.
Thanks in advance for your support.

The error is likely due to one or more firmware updates which are not compatible with version 2.x code. You may want to call Korg support to have them help determine the path to the target version, unless as suggested you can get a hold of the installation DVDs.

Why are you trying to downgrade the OS? The latest code has many features and fixes which are beneficial and has proven to be quite stable.

Unfortunately I ended up doing this disorder.
Now I need to download the DVD media to restore or try to update the firmware but I don't know which one.

I found this version on the website: KRONOS (2011)/Sub-System Firmware (KRONOS/KRONOS X)6.062019.03.05 / ZIP : 835.2KB

I don't know if this is really it.
If anyone can make the link available to download the media, I will be grateful.

Contact Korg product support directly.

Google for the email address.

Be prepared to provide your serial #.

Its possible you might have to reimburse Korg Support for mailing and the media. If so, its worth it

Hello there,

Glad someone could find the DVD links. Download the two restore disks and install. Your Kronos should start correctly after that. Let us know if it works.

Then I would continue with the firmware and 3.1.3 updater.

Also, if you use a PC, also install USB/MIDI driver and I also strongly recommend the great Kronos Editor 3 to manage your programs and combis, etc. All that stuff is below the SOFTWARE section.
