The drop-down menu on the M-50 does not work, however all other touch screen options work. I am unable to calibrate it as I can not get to the main menu to do so. Anyone has an idea what is going on? This is a new problem.

Has anything been dropped or spilt onto the display?

A Touch Panel Calibration may help. It's in Globals P0 Basic Setup page.

Not at ll, I just had it standing up on its edge for 3 weeks with a towel covering it. I cleaned the screen with vinegar and a soft cloth. Unable to get to the main menu to calibrate. Looks like a possible calibration issue on some screens while good on others.

Korg recommend a clean dry cloth for cleaning. Vinegar doesn't sound like a good idea. Could any of it have leaked under the edge of the display?

The calibration menu can be reached through key presses alone:

Go into GLOBAL mode. Press the EXIT button twice. Hold down the ENTER switch and press 3 on the numeric keypad. The Touch Panel Calibration page should appear.

I spray the vinegar mixed with water on the cloth. Will try out your instructions. Appreciate your assistance Smile

Did you mistakenly overlook my offer? It was that important. Was getting ready to sell this thing.

All working well for weeks now the upper left calibration rectangle does not respond, however the lower right one does. Are these touchscreens not problematic?

The touch screens on the M50 and M3 are based on the same technology, and have come up on this forum from time to time as having issues, though not all keyboards suffer. My M50 is still on the original touch screen and seems to work well, but that's just down to luck, I suppose. Replacement touch screens are still available at reasonable cost, so all is not lost, though the replacement is fiddly and best left to a repair shop. Have you tried recalibrating using a smartphone-type rubber-tipped stylus? It may work better than using a fingertip.

Just a thought. I have watched folk drag the on-screen scroll bars, to no effect, except to scratch the screen, and probably cause unnecessary wear to the touch-sensing mechanism. The M50 doesn't recognise drag movements, so these are something that's best avoided.

Hi Voip,

It is the upper left rectangle which does not respond while in calibration mode. The entire M-50 and screen is in mint condition. I did change one out on the M-3. What actually goes wrong with the clear glass element that an area just no longer responds? Should I de-laminate it and clean it then mount it back? May try that.

I am looking at the possibility in acquiring a Kronos - will be posting in another thread on this topic. There are some build issues with that over $3000.00 synth - believe or not.

Thank you again for your assistance.
