WAY too out of tune and twangy. Does anyone know of a way to fix that out of tune part of the sample? It's like some non musician went to a bar and found a honky tonk piano and decided that was the norm for upright pianos lol. a little help please?

there might be a tedious way to load the program 16 times into a combi, and hack at it.

Personally, it doesn't sound like its worth the effort.

Its easy to take an existing German or Japanese grand and do some slight de-tuning.

no not really. cause the sample itself is still better than the other pianos on kronos, due to the fact the for instance...
the G and Ab above middle C is more level in volume with the other notes...
whereas, the G and Ab on all the other pianos are WAY LOUDER than the rest of the keys. which i HATE. lol

The great Bosendorfer Imperial isn't quite as portable as the Kronos with EXs12 on board :-) And the Kronos is way cheaper!! A quarter to half a million dollars vs. $167 at present special offer price.

A suggestion for wocongming would be to get the Kronos serviced, including a new contact set for the keys. But, before doing so, performing a check using MIDI-OX, or similar, to see the velocity levels being transmitted by the various keys, might be a useful diagnostic. The other test would be to set the chord pads to play the notes that sound too loud, on their own (not chords) at constant velocity, or use an external MIDI keyboard set to deliver constant velocity, and see the effect.

I love the Kronos German and Berlin for playing cocktail gigs, but when I bought this library, it was exactly the character I was looking for when searching for an upright sample to fit in some Americana type songs and traditional country bands. Like when I take my wife out to dinner, I drive my Cadillac, but when I go fishing at my brother's ranch, I take my old pickup truck.
