Can someone please tell me how to get a timpani roll as a MIDI note -- without entering a ton of notes? The few patches that say timpani roll play one note. _________________ UCG Musician |

suggest you leave a YouTube
my guess, its easy to 'finger ' a roll, and save it as midi file on Kronos
Can't be accurate unless you provide detail or context _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

It turns out there is a patch that does this but it took a lot of experimentation to find it! I created a scale from a very low note to a very high note in Finale, saved it as a MIDI file, opened it in Cakewalk and listened to the percussion sound corresponding to each note. Way up in the stratosphere in the Kronos (Bb8) generates a Bb2 timp roll. _________________ UCG Musician |

The Program UBB-057 "Timpani Splits SW2 Roll2" has Timpani and Roll in the name. Also UBB-070.
As expected, it provides real samples of real tympani rolls when SW2 is turned on, as is also explained in the program's name. This might also work for you. However, doing it with midi notes provide more control over where it starts and ends inside a sequence. _________________ Stephen Kay - KARMA Developer • Karma-Lab - karma-lab.com

Thank you, StephenKay. I use the keyboard so much as a slave that I don't know the instrument itself very well. I hope to change that as I must rely on it more to create accompaniments during this time when our church services are being webcast and I'm providing most of the music. _________________ UCG Musician |
