the process is not at all hard as seen in the video I linked to. also, you can not stream audio sample libraries from a usb flash drive.
that is a primary reason to put in a larger drive. ....
but yeah, if you don't feel comfortable, let someone else do it. |

The linked video is not a Kronos 2. The new units have extra aluminum plates to protect/solidify and one of them must be removed after both the front fender and action are out of the way. Otherwise one can not access the other MB SATA port. _________________ My Kronos 7 |

@GregC,
Just to let you know if you are unaware, Korg gives you authorization codes for multiple Kronos music workstations for free of cost if you have those many EXs.
It’s seriously an investment because one can purchase a next generation Kronos such as the Kronos3 and authorize the EXs on the new music workstation for no additional costs.
Isn’t that darn awesome? Definitely worth investing in more EXs during Black Friday weekend when Korg offers 50-67% discounts.
I traded my Nord Stage 3 for a Kronos2-88 when Korg agreed to give me new authorization codes. |

@KK,
I would have to pay $270 for ground transportation and workmanship in the USA. The 500GB SSD and SATA cable cost an additional $80/-. That is what makes me feel bad; it’s like being ripped of $350/- for something trivial. It’s not that difficult to add the second SSD; it’s only something that I haven’t done before (having to remove the keybed assembly). There are always caveats while carrying out an experiment!
If you could make a short video demonstrating ALL the precautions in a hands on manner, you could help me save the $270/-.
People can see it in the future. Let me know if you can help, everyone!

That is good news. and Korg finally coming around to granting multiple auth codes, has been a frequent request since Day 1. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Write an email to “support@korgusa.com” asking them if you are eligible for new authorization codes for a second Korg Kronos. If you are eligible (depending upon the $$$$ of purchases), support will generate the new codes. If you are not eligible due to insufficient purchases, support will ask you to contact the developer(s) of the sound libraries.
Hope that explains why some people are denied authorization codes for a second Korg Kronos. |
