Hi,
Just found out that my Roland EV volume pedal is for the large part not compatible with new Kronos (if someone could confirm)?
Any recommendations?
Cheers

Hi there,
I bought the Korg EXP-2. Works perfectly since it's the one recommended by Korg. |

The tip and ring connections on the EV-5 jack will need to be reversed to work on the Kronos. A small adapter cable could be made that does this. |

You’ve changed the Global pedal setting, yes? |

I’m a big fan of Ernie Ball pedals, I’ve been using them for over 20 years. They’re built tough, only down side is that once in a great while you’ll probably have to replace the nylon string. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |

that's the step.
Global/controllers.
Foot pedal assign
The cc I use is expression. Master volume works, too.
Write Global setting
Works perfect over here. No re-engineering on my EV-5 _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

OK. Unmodified, the Roland EV-5 pedal will work with the Kronos, but the signal levels generated internally in the Kronos, as pedal position is varied, will be very different to the levels obtained when the Tip and Ring jack connections are reversed. The link below shows these levels plotted, based on calculations that take the expression potentiometer to be a 10k linear type. Most of the pedal effect, when using the unmodified pedal, occurs in the first 10% of pedal travel, whereas the signal changes linearly with pedal travel after reversing the Tip and Ring connections.

thanks for the replies everyone,
for the uninformed like myself (kronos 10 days old), what I am reading is that the EV5 will work but only to an extent.
I stumbled across this when I tried to replicate the effects in this video, with resulting in a more high pitched noise. Possible not having the appropriate pedal?

Yep. Simple and it will work for sure since it's the pedal for the Kronos. |

Get a Moog EP-3 Expression Pedal.
The polarity switch ensures compatibility with many products. |

Also consider the Yamaha FC-7. Good price and build quality. And it works straight out of the box on a Kronos! |
