I can do basic edits to Kronos programs and mess with FX. After 8 or 9 years, thats to be expected.

But I don't have any plans[or time] to be a sound creator or do deep programming to Mod-7, AL-1, STR-1 etc etc.

It takes significant talent and time to produce a professional, Korg level result.

Which has been my gripe for some yrs, the complex sound engines have not been exploited. I am willing to pay for that quality but haven't seen it or heard it.

Over the past 4 years I had the wishful thought that Korg would pave the way, take the original 2011 engines use their talent and development tools and really show off how it could be done.

Since no one has taken the charge, it might suggest there is little money in it.

IMO, its not always about the money.

Chance doesn't always do well things right but a "random function" in a future korg workstation (if there is any one, who knows, by chance) could be a good thing that would direct imagination for some new steps. One of the advantages of the VST instruments (Dune 3, Synplant, Pigments, Cypher2 etc etc) is that they offer on screen all the tools, graphicaly very well conceived, for tweaking sounds as we want to. More intuitive than on the kronos. IMHO. Your works Charles Ferraro are always very interesting and they give ideas.

Yes, I remember, many years ago, Steinberg sold Atari synth editor (for Korg M1, Wavestation, etc.) in which there was random-merge function. Taking 2 or more sounds, it created any new ones we could expect. Then, we just had to edit these new sounds. We got an average 1 or 2 on 10 good sounds, but it was quite convenient.

On a same way, the free Behringer Deepmind editor offers a merge function between 4 existing sounds.

Here again, a good idea to improve the free Kronos editor.

The Sound Quest editor get a "Patch Generator Tool". I don't have this software because with a 400 $ price (!!), I consider it completely out of range.

I thiiiink you can get MIDI Quest 12 One for less than a hundred bucks. It only supports one registered instrument.

There are 3 (4) versions of Midiquest.

The basic, "Essential" is 159 $.
Then, MidiQuest is 269 $
Midiquest Pro is 399 $

The "Patch Creation Tools" are specfically interesting. There are 5 tools. But the "Essential" version contains only 1 of the 5.
So, in order to get the right version (according to what we are speaking about) 269 $ are needed.

(As Zebra 2 is about 220 $, I think, and considering its huge range of possibilities, I don't think I would pay 269 $ for the Midiquest editor ?)

Here are the details : https://squest.com/Products/MidiQuest12/Details.html

I'd rather give a donation to welfare of animals, or fire victims, than buy a MidiQuest.
I am still waiting for update of KRONOS Editor !

I don't have much to offer other than I think development tools make a diff.

An editor, midi quest, etc.

I worked for a Unix/Linux software tools co for some yrs, so I am biased
